Constipation in infants at this age is very common. Trust your pediatrician and follow the recommendation properly. Adhere to proper instructions about dosage, dilutions and when to give the syrup.  Giving the syrup too often or in excess does not get digested well. Discuss all your concerns with your doctor.

You can also give half an ounce of apple juice twice a day to your infant daughter. But discuss this with your pediatrician first.
