Geriatric patients often have "dryness" complaints. Ensure your father is drinking at least 1/2 his body weight in ounces of pure/filtered water each day. For dry eyes, often homeopathic eye drops (Similisan, or eye drops made by a trained health care practitioner) or over the counter eye drops/night gel (like Refresh, etc.) can palliate symptoms.
If he has difficulty with ductal draining, hydrotherapy (alternating 3 min hot/warm and 30 sec cold water poultices x 3 ) can improve circulation. http://www.countrydoc.com Dr. Karen Benton, Naturopathic Physician
