Ayurveda treats dryness as a predominant symptom of Vata vitiation. Vata is tamed by use of various oils, both internal and external use. Thus balancing your fats in foods is one way.

Another immediate relief way is to apply oil to the scalp and give a light massage for five minutes. If suffering from dandruff, baldness, graying, use margosa oil. If there is itch, it will also be relieved.

If sleep is disturbed, use coconut oil, Perennail oil. If you wish to enrich hair, use Mahabhringaraj Oil. Ayurveda offers so many oils in which herbs are infused by boiling oils with herbs.

Often dry skin results from poor metabolism or inadequate intake of essential fatty acids. Consider increasing your intake of high potency salmon, mackerel, sardine and/or krill oil. If the fatty acids are the cause, then you should notice a difference after taking at least 3 capsules of high potency fish oil daily for several months. http://www.countrydoc.com
