How to cure armpit odor with natural ingredients?

Body odor is what people generally call the unpleasant smell associated with people's bodies. The condition which is known to cause such an odor is called as hyperhidrosis. Perspiration helps the cooling process in the body. The sweat on the body evaporates and gives a cooling sensation to the body. Perspiration or sweating is not the factor which causes bad odor. It is the bacteria which get accumulated on the skin which releases an unpleasant odor. However, bad odor is associated with the sweat glands. Some parts of the body such as the armpit and the genitals perspire more than the other parts of the body. A lot of people use deodorants to eliminate this unpleasant odor. However, deodorants just make it worse as they contain a lot of toxic chemicals and other products made up of heavy metal such as aluminum. Some factors which cause bad odor are constipation, anxiety, menopause in women, use of drugs, prolonged or chronic diseases, over secretion of hormones and certain foods and beverages.

There are some very simple home remedies which can help get rid of the body odor. Instead of using deodorants, one can use vinegar or alcohol to wipe the underarms. This could help in getting rid of the bacteria and it does not also contain any toxic chemicals that would affect your skin. Instead of antiperspirants, use alum. Antiperspirants tend to clog the pores, trapping the sweat and thus increasing the chances of bad odor. If the bad odor is due to Constipation, it is important that the digestive system of the body is improved in order to eradicate the bad odor. To do so, have five hundred milligrams of wheat grass daily on an empty stomach. Have this with a glass of water. It will not only help improve the digestive system, but will also work as a natural home remedy for bad odor as the chlorophyll in it cleanses the body from inside. Apply baking soda to the armpits and other parts of the body which perspire. This will help to minimize the body odor. Put some rose water in the bathing water or in the bath tub. This will work as a natural deodorant. Apple cider vinegar is also known to be effective against body odor. It reduces the ph level of the skin and thus minimizes the odor. Hygiene is of utmost importance. It is important that one maintains good hygiene for these remedies to prove effective against the body odor.

Armpit odor can be extremely embarrassing especially in social circumstances that require proximity. A simple elevator ride or sitting besides a fellow-passenger while travelling can be a cause of embarrassment if you suffer from odor problems. Foul underarm odor is not caused by sweat but rather the bacteria that thrive in this region. To get rid of this problem, you will have to deal with the root cause of your problem which is the bacteria.

Bacteria require a moist and warm environment to thrive, which unfortunately makes your armpit a very hospitable environment for them. You can follow a few basic home remedies for armpit odor to get rid of your problem. Add two teaspoons of fuller's earth to a small bowl and add enough fresh lemon juice to it, to make it a paste. Apply this paste to your underarms and allow it to dry completely before washing it off. Lemon juice is acidic in nature and destroys these bacteria. The high acid levels also create a hostile environment for the bacteria. If possible, use this method before your shower ion a daily basis for a week. After your shower, apply an antimicrobial powder to your underarms to keep it dry and prevent the bacteria from spreading. You can also take a handful of Margosa leaves and dry it in the shade. Pound these leaves until they are reduced to a fine powder and use this powder to dust your underarms.

Exfoliation is also important to get rid of dead skin cells as these only help to harbor the bacteria. You can use a regular skin scrub to exfoliate the area or you can make your own scrub. Make a thick coarse mixture out of sugar, rice flour, honey and a little tomato juice. Use this paste to scrub your underarms as it will help to get rid of any sebum and dead skin remnants. Sugar and rice flour are both coarse and will help to slough off the dead skin while honey is a mild antibacterial agent as well as a soothing tonic. Tomato juice is acidic in nature and will help to get rid of the bacteria. You can also apply a little fresh lemon juice to your underarms before you go to bed and wash it off only in the morning. Follow this routine for at least a week or two to get rid of armpit odor for good.
