Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease that causes an inflammation of the airways and their narrowing. This results in recurrent periods of breathlessness or wheezing, chest tightness, and coughing. Symptoms like these are generally more pronounced at night or early in the morning.

Chronic diseases are long term ailments, and there is unfortunately no cure for asthma. The disease can however be controlled and restricted with medications and natural treatments. Due to its chronic nature many patients prefer not to use pharmaceutical medications as prolonged medication can cause long term damage and reactions.

In most scenarios natural treatments are effective and reliable as an alternative, but in very severe cases and in times of a severe asthma attack, it would be best to rely on conventional medicine.

Asthma may be caused by a variety of factors, but is more often than not of an allergic nature, which means that asthma attacks are triggered by exposure to certain allergens or irritants. For any asthmatic the inflamed airways are extremely sensitive, which means they will produce a stronger reaction to irritants. For this reason it would be absolutely necessary to avoid or at least minimize exposure to any such substances. Pollution is a major cause for concern, particularly in urban settings, so I would advice you to minimize your outdoor excursions at least during peak hours.

Before you begin any natural treatment you should keep in mind that if you are currently on any medications you can not discontinue them immediately. Consult your health care provider and inform him about your decision. Your dependence and need for conventional medications should decrease gradually. Asthma can be life threatening if not treated appropriately, so make sure you do not disregard the advice of your health care provider. There are a variety of natural treatments such as aromatherapy and herbal remedies that can help significantly, as well as dietary measures. Certain foods and herbs can help reduce the inflammation of the airways, thus reducing the asthma symptoms. Aromatherapy inhalation and chest massages can also help greatly and will also provide some quick relief. Aromatherapy treatments are also very relaxing and soothing.

In addition to dietary measures and remedies, physical activity and fitness is also important. Light physical activity like daily walks, jogging or swimming can help, along with breath exercises. You also mentioned physical weakness and weakness of the bones. Consult your doctor to find out if you suffer from any nutritional deficiency, as this could very well be a cause of weakness. I would also advice you to take up a yoga routine, as it is the healthiest fitness discipline and is in fact perfect for asthmatics. It combines physical fitness with breath control and relaxation techniques that will go a long way to improving your overall health and strengthening your lungs.
