Boils or small bumps often occur covering the hair follicle, which start as a small harmless boil, that increases in size and pain both. Add ½ tsp of grounded nutmeg in 1 cup of boiled water or milk, this stimulates circulation in the body and helps fight body infections. Place a thick slice of onion over the boil and wrap it with cloth.
Change this cloth in 2hrs and don’t tie it too tight. The antiseptic chemicals in onions will help to draw heat and blood to the boil and speed healing. As you mentioned that there is no pus in these bumps, are these bumps on his head due to the wallops when he runs, climbs or plays? If so apply ice wrapped in a towel on the bumps; this will help to decrease the swelling. If this is the cause; then look out for symptoms like vomiting, irritability, drowsiness, confused behavior and consult your pediatrician immediately.
