Spider veins can be described as veins that have gotten widened or twisted due to poor or blocked circulation. Widened veins become a lot more prominent and visible on the surface of the skin.

These visible veins resemble a bluish spider web, which is why they are commonly referred to as spider veins. The pressure inside the veins rises to a level exceeding normal resistance to blood flow. As a result a small group of blood vessels located near the skin’s surface get dilated or enlarged.

The condition is a lot more pronounced in the legs and is generally more prevalent among women of the age group of thirty to seventy years. Men are however not immune to it.

There are however quite a few natural remedies that can help treat your problem. These remedies will not only help with the unsightly appearance, but some of them go further than simply remedying the symptoms. A few of these natural treatments actually address the cause of spider veins by improving circulation and strengthening the walls of the veins. If the health of the veins can be restored to normalcy the spider veins will naturally fade away.

Here are certain points that you need to keep in mind:
  • When seated, never keep your legs crossed, instead leave them straightened so as to facilitate and allow for circulation.
  • Exercising is the most important remedy. You don’t need to enroll in a gym for rigorous workouts; walking, jogging and cycling are in fact the best options.
