The weight of a person is always judged in correspondence to his/her height. In order to live a healthy and active life one should maintain their normal weight in accordance to their height. However if the body is underweight or overweight it could prove harmful to the entire functioning and appearance of the body.

For example a person who is underweight is most often malnourished and displays a weak immune system. Externally he or she would have very dry and dull skin. On the other hand an overweight person is at an increased risk of suffering from diseases of the heart, liver and kidneys.

They are also prone to acne and other skin related problems as they produce excess sebum - the oily lubricant that is produced by the body.

There is no healthy way of reducing weight fast, as crash diets and the like do more harm than good to the body. The most effective way of losing weight however is by maintaining a healthy diet and following a healthy lifestyle. This will not only help you lose weight, but will also make you feel fitter, stronger and healthier for the rest of your life; as opposed to the temporary weight loss provided by crash diets. Here are some tips that would help you lose weight and yet keep you in the pink of health.
  • Start your day by drinking warm water mixed with honey and lime. This will help boost the metabolism rate of your body. Doing this will help you digest the food you eat quickly.
  • Eat smaller sized portion meals as opposed to the general three meals a day routine. This will ensure that the food eaten is digested properly and also ensures that you do not overeat.
  • Avoid saturated oils and opt for healthier cooking oils like olive oil. Olive oil is not only good for healing cholesterol related problems but it also reduces blood pressure and gives your skin a radiant look.
  • Stay away from fried and junk food as they are loaded with calories. Carbonated drinks should also be completely avoided.
  • Instead of the above foods and drinks you could eat foods that are naturally healthy like veggies and cereals as they would provide the body with vital vitamins and minerals. Drink fresh juices that are tastier and more refreshing to the body than carbonated drinks and colas.
  • You will also need to substitute red meats with lean meats, as red meats are very high in calories and are difficult to digest. Lean meats on the other hand provide the body with its daily requirement of proteins while avoiding harmful fats.
  • The main factor influencing weight loss would be exercise. It is very important that the body uses all the energy it stores. This can be achieved by following a good exercise regime involving cardio and strength training in rotation.
Try this out and you will see the difference it brings about not only in your weight but also in your life.
