When I am around house cats my chest tightens and I have trouble breathing. I have asthma, but only cats bring it on with such scary episodes. An inhaler helps but I must stay away from cats. Any Suggestions?

Your house cats are clear trigger for your asthma attack. This clearly indicates that you might be allergic to their fur. I would not advice pumping the inhaler and staying near the cats. Please stay 10 feet away from them to avoid further scary episodes. Besides this, you can follow these suggestions to relieve asthma.
Inhale steam from boiling water mixed with caraway seeds, to dilate your bronchial passage.
Keep a tract of the food which you consume, and note the particular food which triggers your asthma. Avoid consumption of that food completely.
Take 2 tsp of honey twice daily with milk or water as it helps to thin out accumulated mucus and elimination it from the respiratory passage.
Take a tsp of turmeric powder with a glass of milk, twice daily, to relieve asthma. It acts best when taken on an empty stomach.
