Yeast infections are the second most common type of vaginal infection in women. Candida albicans, and other forms of yeast, commonly grow in the vagina, rectum, and mouth. Oral candidiasis is called thrush.

The most common causes for vaginal infection are:
- Hot weather and improper clothing

- Antibiotic treatments

- Stress

- Oral contraceptives

-High refined carbohydrate intake

- Poor immunity

- Pregnancy and diabetes and so on.

The yeast seen in beer and other foods are dissimilar to the one's that cause infection.
