A stuffy nose is very common as cold can block up your nasal passages. To breathe a lot easier, there are many ways to unblock your stuffiness using these simple home remedies: 1) Sprinkle karvol drops on a tissue and keep sniffing from time to time. 2) Sniffing an onion also helps. 3) Any hot or spicy liquid from a cup can make a stuffy nose runny. Try some hot chicken soup. Hot tea with lemon or drinking just plain hot water are excellent decongestants. 4) Steam from hot shower : Breathing the steam from a hot shower is probably the easiest way to cut mucus and keep it from getting thick--a common cause of stuffiness. A really effective way is to clear up a stuffy nose is to take steam inhalations using water or with a few drops of karvol added to the water. 5) Nasal decongestant sprays are effective but only temporarily. So if you use them, use sparingly. 6) Vitamin C may bring relief to a congested nose in varied doses. Do not take more than 500 mgs daily without medical practitioners approval. 7) Zinc may improve congested sinuses – so take a 50-milligram supplement daily. 8) Exercise is a natural decongestant for nasal stuffiness. Brisk walking is useful as it stimulates better breathing and blood circulation. You will also shrink nasal membranes, and also get fresh air.
