It sounds as if you have edema, or a collection of fluid in your ankles and feet. Yes, it is possible one of the causes for this condition is poor kidney function. This can easily be tested by having your blood drawn and measures of kidney function (such as BUN, creatinine, electrolytes etc.) analyzed.
You are taking two medications which regulate blood pressure --in addition to a "statin" which affects the liver's ability to produce cholesterol. Without knowing your medical history, the swelling in your feet could also be due to insufficient protein in your diet, insufficient water intake, poor circulation due to cardiovascular weakness (like congestive heart failure and other vascular conditions), and lack of movement (i.e. prolonged sitting.) Although there appear to be no documented drug interactions between the two prescription medications you are taking, the Caduet lists "fluid retention" as a possible side effect. Please mention your concerns to the health care practitioner who prescribed the medications, or to your pharmacist in order to obtain a more complete answer. www.countrydoc.com
