Nutritional Remedies:
During acute attacks, you will benefit from eating a low purine diet. Foods that need to be especially controlled are all flesh foods and extractives prepared from them such as gravies and soups. Restrict sweet breads, anchovies, sardines, liver, kidney, brain, pancreas, lamb, bacon, Pork, beef, meat extracts and meat gravies.


Dried beans, dried peas and dried lentils are rich in purine and need to be restricted. Among vegetables, restrict intake of mushroom, cauliflower and spinach. Restrict intake of alcoholic beverages, chocolate, cocoa, tea and coffee.

Foods which contain insignificant among of purine which you can eat are:


Among vegetables: Beetroot, Brinjal, Cabbage, Calabash cucumber, carrot, cucumber, ladys finger, lettuce, potato, pumpkin, sweet potato, tomato, turnips.

Among cereals: Maize, rice and wheat.


Miscellaneous foods: Butter, oil, cheese, egg, fruits of all kinds, gelatin, milk, nuts, sugars and sweets, tapioca and yeast.
