Dark circles are a common concern among many individuals. Socially, dark circles look embarrassing and give a person a tired, older and depressed appearance.

Here are few home remedies for dark circles you could use.

Home remedies cannot get rid of dark circles for good, but offer temporary inexpensive remedies that can certainly decrease them.

  • Detoxification certainly helps. Drink plenty of water and avoid unhealthy foods.
  • Discontinue alcohol, caffeine, smoking and other unhealthy habits.
  • Dark circles could be lightened by placing a chilled raw slice of potato on your eyelids. Relax for 15 to 20 minutes before removing the potato slices. Continue this treatment everyday; you will certainly see a difference in a few days.
  • Cucumber juice is also useful to lighten dark circles. Dip cotton balls in cucumber juice and place them on your eyelids for few minutes.
  • Make mixture of almond and saffron oil and massage it around the eyes everyday for two weeks before bedtime, this helps to get rid of dark circles.

The brown spots on your cheeks could be anything such as freckles, moles or tinea versicolor. Firstly it’s necessary for you to identify them, which can be easily done by a skin specialist.

If the spots are moles, here is a useful remedy - make a paste of castor oil and baking soda and apply it over the mole with help of a gauze. Tape the gauze and leave it overnight.

To treat freckles, apply lemon juice over the freckled region to lighten them. For more information and natural remedies for freckles read the article http://www.home-remedies-for-you.com/articles/223/medicines-and-remedies/battling-with-freckles.html

Tinea Versicolor can be treated by over the counter dandruff shampoo. The selenium in the shampoo acts upon the fungus. Apply a layer of this shampoo on the affected region.
