Cysts and benign tumours are responsible for a single thyroid lump. Cancerous (malignant) growths also occur, but are rare.Cysts sometimes collapse by themselves.
Only the very rare malignant (cancerous) nodule is of concern. Yet, thyroid cancer is one of the less serious types of tumour. Most of the tumours are simple swellings of fluid (cysts) or benign growths of thyroid tissue with no tendency to spread or invade structures.
The rest are usually a very low-grade form of cancer, which is almost always completely curable. To know more about goitre, visit, http://www.home-remedies-for-you.com/articles/45/medicines-and-remedies/knowing-more-about-goitre.html and http://www.home-remedies-for-you.com/remedy/Goitre.html
