The arrival of a wisdom tooth might unfortunately mean quite a bit of pain for the person concerned. This natural teething process can cause a lot of discomfort and may make the person more irritable. At times, it can be like dealing with a teething toddler all over again.
In fact, teething rings, such as those used by infants, may also be used when an adult gets a wisdom tooth. Some people get their wisdom teeth, or a few of them, at an early age while some people may not get all of them or may fail to get them at all. This should not alarm you as both cases are perfectly natural. The problem arises because the arrival of an additional tooth not only cuts through your gums but can also lead to additional pressure in the mouth. What results is pain in both your gums and your teeth. This additional tooth can even cause inflammation and distension. What can really cause pain and possibly lead to sores is the breaking out of a wisdom tooth at an incorrect angle. In this case, it is the sharp side that constantly brushes against your cheeks as well as gums. This irritation could eventually result in the formation of sores in your mouth which can make routine actions difficult. If you have ever had a sore in your mouth you will appreciate how much discomfort it can cause even when swallowing small morsels of food.
Dealing with wisdom teeth pain requires a lot of forbearance, and is a lot like dealing with any toothache. Garlic helps not just with regular tooth pain, but also with tooth pain brought on by the onset of wisdom teeth. While this may not smell so great, it can really help tackle that ache. Onion is also similarly helpful and is often used in combination with garlic to treat wisdom tooth pain. Another commonly used remedy involves the use of cloves or, more commonly, clove oil. This effective natural remedy can banish that tooth ache in no time at all. Remember that you should also go easy on your teeth for a while, and indulge in soft foods, and more of healthy liquids such as water and fresh fruit juices. A warm water gargle can also do wonders for most toothaches. Do not forget that despite the wisdom tooth pain some dental hygiene is still indispensable.
