Natural Remedy Eczema

Natural remedies for eczema
(25 Mar 2010)

If you are suffering from eczema, then you should first be totally aware of the condition and have as much information as possible about it. Eczema is the medical term given to excessively dry skin. There is no documented reason why people get eczema, and in a lot of cases, infants are sometimes also born with it.

There is also no cure for eczema, and all you can do is to try and control it. You can help your skin along by applying creams and lotions to keep it moist; you will not really be in too much of suffering. But if your case is one of extreme eczema, then you may want to figure out a couple of different methods that will help you deal with it. You can also contribute towards controlling your eczema by controlling your food intake. A whole lot of times, people who do not consume enough of grease as required by the body may get to see the outward manifestation of extremely dry skin. What’s more, this could also impact your general health otherwise. Being on a diet is always a good thing, but it needs to be in proportion with what your body needs too.

Apart from adding a little bit of grease to your food if there is currently none, you should also try your best to ensure that your skin is always properly nourished and hydrated generously. Use a deeply nourishing and oil based cream on a regular basis twice a day. Keep a smaller version of the same with you wherever you go. This way, you can always apply more cream to the extra especially dry parts of your body if you see the whiteness and flakiness showing up. About once a week, you can also apply a generous layer of glycerin to the dry parts of your skin. This would work especially well for you if you also have scabs and flaking dry skin. Keep it on for about an hour and then wash off with water. Try not to use ordinary soap, opting instead for one which is cream based and has oil in it. This will be better because these types of soaps usually leave behind a thick layer of cream on the skin which also serves as protection from dryness. It is inadvisable to have an excessively hot water bath, as hot water is known to dry up your skin. Use cool or tepid water instead.
