The problem that you are facing is a normal problem that nearly every teenager and some adults have to face at some point in their lives called acne vulgaris. The causative factors for this problem lie in two areas: the hormonal balance in your body and the condition of your skin. The hormonal balance in your body usually undergoes some changes during puberty and can extend to adulthood as well.

You can also experience flare ups every now and then with changes in the hormonal balance. Acne is a problem that some women even in their thirties have to deal with. While doing things to change your hormonal balance is absolutely not advisable, there are things that you can do to improve your skin. Skin condition is a causative factor in development of acne because we don’t do enough to take care of our facial skin and prevent the buildup of debris and bacteria. Dealing with this problem is very simple and can be done without help from a doctor.

Acne is a problem of hyperactivity of the sebaceous glands, which produce the skin oil called sebum. This in itself is not a problem or a cause for the skin to burst into pimples because this is a natural secretion of the body. It consists of wax monoesters, triglycerides, and essential fatty acids. The problem occurs when the skin debris blocks the flow of sebum from the sebaceous glands. The possible reasons for this kind of a blockage are dead skin, dirt, and bacteria. Therefore, all you need to do to avoid pimples is to keep your skin clean and clear; however, if you already have pimples, then you need to ensure that you do not burst and damage the skin. In acne, you could get either black heads or pimples. Black heads are a result of a blockage in the sebaceous glands but the exudates in this formation are mostly keratin and go away on their own. Pimples, however, are a full blown skin infection and need to be disinfected.

Dealing with pimples requires a salicylic face wash and regular exfoliation using sugar or salt crystals. Next, you need to disinfect your face with some tea tree oil or an antiseptic soap. Eat lots of garlic to ensure that the bacterial infection is fought from within because garlic is a natural antibiotic. If you feel your face is too oily, simply wash it more often as this is the better than applying products that will block sebum flow.
