Remedies to Remove Suntan

Hi I got sun tanning its bad and its been 3 months, it's just not going from my skin. Please recommend me with some home remedies so that I can totally remove my tan from my body. Please help?

Prolonged exposure to the sun causes tanning of the skin and while this darkens complexion, it may also lead to dryness and peeling of the skin. You must make sure to avoid direct sun exposure if your skin is prone to tanning easily. You are also at risk of skin cancer by exposing your skin to the UV rays of the sun. Always use a sunblock or sunscreen with SPF 15 before going out into the sun. You could treat a tan at home with a mixture of sugar, glycerin and lemon juice. Apply this mixture on the affected area and scrub gently before rinsing it thoroughly with water. If your skin is peeling on account of becoming tanned and burned from sun exposure, you can use gentle exfoliating scrubs to remove the peeling skin. You may prepare an exfoliating scrub at home with half a cup of oatmeal, a cup of almonds finely ground, plain milk and half a teaspoon of chamomile or lavender. Gently scrub the affected area with a loofah to release the dry, peeling skin. Sun tan can be countered most effectively with aloe vera. Aloe vera mixed with the juice of one lemon helps lighten and nourish the skin affected by a tan. Lemon juice mixed with olive oil and honey helps cure tanned or sun burnt skin immediately. Lemon is effective as a natural bleach and rubbing a slice of lemon directly on the affected areas before a bath will help lighten the skin and cure the tan.

You can add a few drops of lavender or chamomile or some baking powder to your bath water to help soothe skin affected by sun tan. Applying freshly cut tomatoes directly to the skin helps cure inflammation, dryness or darkening on account of sun exposure. Similarly, freshly cut slices of cucumber, grated potato and apple cider vinegar directly to the skin helps cure a tan. Make a mixture of milk, the juice of a potato and a cucumber and vinegar. Apply this on the affected areas and leave for twenty minutes before washing it off. Peppermint is an effective remedy for a sun tan or sun burn. Apply pepper mint oil directly on the affected area for a soothing and cooling effect. Mint tea also serves as an effective remedy for tanned skin. The mint tea should be sugarless and the tannis it contains will do wonders for your skin and help accelerate its healing process. An oatmeal bath is also a good remedy for curing tanned skin. Soak yourself in the oatmeal bath for at least half an hour before drying yourself to help lighten a tan.
