If you suffer from chronic bouts of sneezing very often without suffering from a common cold, it is mostly likely due to an allergy to a substance present in your immediate environment. Many people are allergic to dust, pollen and other such substances present in the air, or to certain perfumes and food products. Some people also have a low resistance to cold and when exposed to cold they start sneezing immediately.
You can resort to simple home remedies to treat your sneezing attacks.
The first and most important thing to do is to identify the allergen in your immediate environment which triggers the sneezing attack and try and remove it from your surrounding. If this is not possible, for example with dust or pollen, you should try and minimize your exposure to the allergen by staying indoors as far as possible, keeping the windows shut.
You should keep your residence and work place as clean as possible and get your carpet and bed linen cleaned regularly. You can also use a humidifier to keep the dust down so that it does not enter your system. When you step out you should cover your nose with a handkerchief. If you are allergic to your pet’s fur then you will have to make sure that it is groomed daily to avoid excess shedding. In addition to this, you can regularly take soups and salad laced with black pepper. This is extremely beneficial in clearing the system and treating sneezing problems. Drink chamomile tea with a few spoons of honey several times a day to treat sneezing caused due to the cold. You can even take a steam inhalation using a chamomile infusion to effectively treat sneezing. Steam inhalation with a few drops of eucalyptus or peppermint oil is also recommended for sneezing. Apart from this, another effective home remedy for sneezing is pounding ginger and boiling it in 1 cup of water till the quantity of the water is reduced by half. You can add some honey to this concoction and drink it just before you go to bed. This is very good for preventing early morning sneezing attacks. You can also make another solution to treat your sneezing attacks by mincing boiled grapefruit and lemon and adding honey to improve the taste. The honey and lemon act efficiently to treat any infections and strengthen the system and grapefruit helps to boost the immunity. You can consume this solution thrice a day to effectively treat your sneezing attacks. In addition to this, you should ensure that your diet in enriched with Vitamin C which helps to strengthen the body’s immune system and keep yourself warm every time you step out.
