Stretch marks can be upsetting so I can understand your anguish over the marks on your belly. However, you should understand that they are quite normal, and most women develop stretch marks, especially after pregnancy. In any case, there is no need for you to lose hope since you can often get rid of stretch marks. You should be prepared for a long term regime of daily applications on the marks. Only this can help the marks to fade. First of all you should start using pure lemon juice on the marks. Lemon juice is reputed to be an effective bleaching agent, and works well on marks and scars. Use your fingers to gently rub the juice into the scarred skin and then allow it to dry. Lemon juice does not usually stain clothes so you can also leave it on overnight and wash it off in the morning. Vitamin E oil is also very effective in getting rid of marks. Again you can test if this stains clothes, and if it does not, then you can apply it to your stretch marks and leave it on overnight. You can also make a puree of a ripe tomato and apply this pulp on the stretch marks. Similarly, you can also extract cucumber juice by squeezing grated cucumber and then apply this juice to the marks. Mix cucumber juice with lemon juice for a more effective remedy. You will find that regular massaging of the area with cocoa butter also works very well and helps in reducing stretch marks.
You can also make a home made pack to get rid of the stretch marks. Use a good quality scrub and add some Vitamin E oil to it. Mix in pure Aloe Vera gel and little cocoa butter. Mix this well and gently scrub the stretch marks with it. Allow it to dry completely before washing it off. Do this as often as you can and you will find the stretch marks reducing in intensity. Another scrub you can make at home requires olive oil. Mix equal quantities of extra virgin olive oil and Aloe Vera gel. To this you can add Vitamin A and Vitamin E oils and then massage the stretch marks with it.
You must remember that stretch marks are basically scars, and like any other scars they will take a long time to heal. Even with regular use of the treatments described, it will probably take well over a year for the marks to fade.
