Dry, frizzy hair is the result of lack of moisture. Hair needs to be moisturized just as the skin does, so regular conditioning and oiling is essential for the proper growth and health of hair. Hair loses some of its natural capacity to retain moisture as one gets older, so you need to take extra care to keep your hair well nourished.
Apply emu oil or jojoba oil to your hair regularly to keep it well moisturized. Emu oil is a rich natural source of omega 3 and other fatty acids, which not only make hair softer and silkier but also seep into the hair roots through the scalp and nourish them. You could also grind burdock root, clover blossoms and rosemary oil and use this solution as a natural after-shower moisturizer. You can also add lavender and peanut oil in equal parts to this oil to remedy frizzy hair. Wash your hair with slightly warm water and then massage your scalp with lots of sesame or apricot oil. Cover your hair with a warm towel for an hour. Then apply a paste of fuller’s earth and yoghurt mixed together to your hair and leave it on for another half an hour. After this rinse your hair well with water. Add some apple cider vinegar to the water you use to wash your hair to cleanse and nourish your hair. Aloe vera has moisture-retaining properties. Make sure the conditioner or hair cream you use contains aloe vera, and after washing your hair with it, wrap it up with a warm wet towel for at least half an hour. This softens frizzy hair considerably. One of the most popular and common method of making hair softer and healthier is to massage the scalp gently but thoroughly with warm coconut oil every day. You can also make a natural hair conditioner by mixing together olive oil and eggs to make mayonnaise. Apply it to your hair and the scalp. Leave it on for 30-45 minutes, using a plastic cap and a warm towel to cover your head. If you want to condition your hair deeply, you could also wrap your hair and then use a blow drier to warm your hair. After this, wash your hair throughly. Mix some honey with water and apply it to your hair and scalp 15 minutes before shampooing. Honey is a natural moisturizing agent which leaves your hair feeling light and soft.
