A general pain in the anal area cannot really be classified as piles. You have also not specified whether you have any other symptoms apart from the pain. If so, then there is a distinct possibility that you may be suffering from piles, as the symptoms of piles are easily noticeable and follow a regular pattern.

However, you can generally change your diet to prevent piles and even speed up recovery. Constipation and hard stools are the most common causes of piles.  Both of these problems, in turn, can be traced back to an improper diet that lacks the necessary dietary fiber.

You need to make sure that you are consuming enough fiber so that you can maintain easy bowel movements. Generally, straining to remove excessively hard stools is the leading cause of piles. Avoid straining and include plenty of fibrous fruits and vegetables in your daily diet to increase you fiber intake. Avoid low fiber foods like meat and refined flour products. In many cases, a diet that consists of excess dairy products can cause constipation. While dairy products are an important source of nutrition, vitamins and minerals, they do not contain any fiber. If you have plenty of milk or yogurt, make sure that you also have raw fruits and vegetables that will provide the body with roughage. Processed foods contain preservatives and other chemicals, and most are what lead to hard stools. An excess of these and not enough unprocessed food can cause constipation. You should concentrate on leafy green vegetables as these are the best solution for getting normal soft stools. Increase your intake of spinach, celery, carrots, collard greens, cabbage and cauliflower. These are extremely rich in fiber.

You can also increase your intake of fibrous food grains. These would include whole wheat as opposed to refined or fine wheat, unpolished or wild rice, barley and lentils. These foods will help to improve your digestive system as well. In terms of exercise, there is nothing specific you can do for the problem you have described. However, if you can manage to get in at least half an hour of exercise daily, it would improve your overall health. If you cannot do anything strenuous, then you should at least start with a walking routine. Try as much as possible to do it outdoors. A combination of a good and healthy diet and a generally healthy lifestyle will help to rid you of your problem quite easily and effectively.
