Since you have not mentioned your age or any other specification, it cannot be automatically assumed that there is anything unnatural about your hair loss. You should be aware that a certain small amount of hair loss is completely normal at any stage on life. Old beliefs state that we lose as well as gain about 100 strands of hair each day.
There is nothing to be alarmed about if this is your case too. However, if you are exceptionally young and are experiencing excessive hair fall, then you should first try to zero in on the reason. To begin with, poorly nourished and ill maintained hair has a tendency to be weak in nature and falls quite easily.
You can take care of this by deep conditioning your hair at least twice a week. This will help to strengthen the roots and will automatically lead to healthier strands as well. You can also use a hair pack made with a paste of Henna powder and water once a month or so. This should be applied to your roots and scalp and left on till it dries. You can then wash it off with your regular shampoo as you would normally wash your hair.
If you use a hair dryer or hair iron regularly you will find that you will lose inordinately large amounts of hair regularly. The excessive heat will tend to weaken your hair and will make it fall off. You can avoid losing your hair this way by avoiding these appliances as far as possible and if you really need to use them make sure that you use them only on moderate heat. You should also stop using hair sprays, gel, or any other such substance you may be using for the time being. This will also leave your hair and scalp free to breathe easily. You could also be suffering from poorly maintained hair. This would mean that you are not washing it frequently enough or you are washing it with harsh products or excessively hot water. This will always tend to make you lose hair. You should also try a shorter haircut for a while so that you can maintain it and eliminate the root cause of your problem. You can start a regular hair care regimen to nourish your hair and keep it healthy and strong. If your hair is short, then you will not have to also worry about breaking the strands half way through their natural growth. Other small measures you could take are to not use a fine tooth comb, and to not comb your hair when it’s wet.
