Natural Remedies For High Blood Pressure

What can I take naturally to lower my high blood pressure?
(19 Mar 2009)

High blood or hypertension is an increasingly common medical condition, characterized by exhaustion without any reason, dizziness, and frequent headaches of varying severity, palpitations and flushing of the face. This happens because the pressure of blood running through the blood vessels has increased beyond the acceptable levels. The normal and acceptable blood pressure is 120 / 80. There are several reasons for high blood pressure.

Garlic is almost a miracle drug for high blood pressure since it helps to regularize the rhythm of the heart, reduce the spasms in the blood vessels, slow down the rate of the pulse and also reduce the intensity of other blood pressure related symptoms. You can have a pearl of garlic with a glass of water, first thing every morning on an empty stomach or take the garlic capsules available in the market. You should also increase your use of garlic in food preparations.  Indian gooseberry is also beneficial for high blood pressure and you can 1 tbsp of fresh Indian gooseberry juice with honey every morning to reduce your blood pressure. Lemon, rich in Vitamin P, helps to strengthen the walls of the capillaries and should be consumed regularly to reduce blood pressure. Another fruit rich in Vitamin P is grapefruit, so you can either have the fruit or its juice regularly. Watermelon seeds can be dried and roasted and consumed in liberal amounts or the juice from the seeds can be extracted and had as a tonic to reduce blood pressure. Parsley also helps to keep the blood vessels healthy and control blood pressure. You should allow 20 gm of fresh parsley leaves to simmer in 250 ml water for a few minutes and drink this decoction several times a day. A mixture of 300 ml carrot juice and 200 ml spinach juice can be consumed once a day to reduce high blood pressure. Finally it is important to monitor your diet, avoiding foods with high salt content, meat and eggs which are also responsible for increasing blood pressure. A healthy balanced diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables with adequate exercise and rest is important to prevent and control high blood pressure.
