Obesity or excess fat is linked to several medical conditions since it causes extra strain on vital organs such as the heart, kidney, liver and the joints in the hips, knees and ankles. It is thus one of the main causes for high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, coronary thrombosis, gout, liver disorders, gall bladder disorders, arthritis etc. The main reasons for obesity or excess weight are bad eating habits, lack of exercise and a primarily sedentary lifestyle.
The metabolic rate of the body also plays an important role in weight loss and weight gain issues. The best way to lose weight and keep it off permanently is to modify your lifestyle. Make sure that you get adequate exercise and rest and stick to a healthy, balanced diet. You should also avoid all junk food and oily, greasy and processed foods which are high in fats and carbohydrates. There are several other techniques to lose weight which involve the consumption of drugs to alter the body’s metabolic rate or even surgery to get rid of the excess fat, but these methods are not recommended since they are not only expensive but they can cause great harm to the body in the long run. The best way to lose weight is, thus, the un-intrusive methods which do not harm the body.
You should consult a dietician to plan out your daily diet so that it excludes foods that are high in calories and includes healthy foods. Reduce your salt intake since it can play an important role in increasing weight. You should also avoid consuming rice, potatoes and refined flour products which are high in carbohydrates. Milk products such as cheese, whole cream and butter, red meats, desserts with plenty of butter and sugar should also be avoided since they have a high fat content and can lead to immense weight gain. Instead you should focus on fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, whole grain cereals, nuts and seeds. Carrot juice consumed daily is beneficial for reducing weight, as is mint juice or even mint tea. The use of spices such as cinnamon, black pepper and ginger have been found to be beneficial in weight loss so you should use them liberally in your food preparations. Honey is also excellent in reducing weight by mobilizing the excess fat in the body so that it can be used as a source of energy. Mix a spoonful of honey and the juice of one lemon in a glass of water and drink it as soon as you wake up. This traditional cure encourages the body to use its deposits of stored fats .It also regularizes bowel movements and ensures the proper cleansing of the system. Apart from this, you should start a regular exercise regime. You can start with a brisk walk for around 45 minutes, gradually increasing it to a jog and moving on to other weight loss exercises and aerobics. A healthy lifestyle with a proper balance of exercise, rest and a nutritious diet is the best way to lose weight.
