You should be consulting a doctor about this problem. The fact that you have been suffering from boils for so many years means that something is seriously wrong with your body, and it is essential that you detect the problem and treat it as soon as possible. It is not clear what you mean when you say that you have used antibiotics – antibiotics are usually not necessary, except in the case of serious boils.

In any case, you should not take antibiotics on your own – they should be only taken with a medical prescription. If you have been taking antibiotics without a medical prescription all these years, then you should stop. This indiscriminate use of antibiotics is probably one reason why you continue getting these boils.

In most cases, boils run their own course and disappear within a few days. Any treatment, if required, is meant only to ease the pain and discomfort caused by the boil, and to marginally speed up the healing process. If a doctor has been regularly prescribing antibiotics for your boils, without looking into the underlying cause, then you should get a second opinion before you continue any treatment.

Recurrent boils may be due to diabetes, so you should get yourself checked for this condition. However, this is not the only condition that can lead to frequent boils. A number of other conditions, including several disorders of the immune system, can also cause a person to develop frequent boils. You will therefore need a thorough check up to explore all the possibilities.

Of course, recurrent boils may also be related to hygiene, and you should ensure the highest levels of hygiene, particularly if you think you may be exposed to a lot of bacteria. You can use an antibacterial soap daily in order to minimize the number of bacteria on your skin, especially staph bacteria which are known to cause boils. You should also ensure that your diet is balanced and varied, as certain deficiencies can make you more vulnerable to bacteria that cause boils. There are no specific foods that you need to eat to avoid boils – simple ensure that your diet has a lot of variety, so that you get all the necessary nutrients. Taking honey on an empty stomach is however useless as far as your boils are concerned. It will not do you any harm, so if you enjoy it, you can continue to take it, but do not expect it to stop the boils.
