Boil Scars: Is There Any Product Or Home Remedies To Remove Boil Scarring?

Scarring marks usually left behind after a boil is healed. If a boil is small in size, the boil scar mark may be insignificant, but a large boil may leave a prominent mark. Also, to avoid boil scars, one should not squeeze or drain out a boil forcibly, since doing so may cause permanent damage to the tissue and leave a permanent scar mark. It’s best to let the boil heal by itself in due time.

You can try some preventive measures to minimize scar marks when you have a boil, but once you have got a scar mark it is usually very difficult to remove it completely. There are no instant magic remedies for vanishing scar marks. They generally fade away in time, but rarely do they vanish completely. In some cases, surgical procedure may help you get rid of scar marks, but it is generally not advisable. You can seek medical advice from a dermatologist in case you want to go through some medical procedures to get your scar marks removed. There are also a lot of over-the-counter medicines – lotions, ointments, creams – that claim to be effective for removing scar marks. However, it is better not to fall for them blindly, as these solutions aren’t likely to produce significant results.

There are a few home remedies that you can try out to help fade the scar marks. Do not, however, expect any dramatic results after you follow them. At best, they may slightly improve your condition, and over time, with repeated use, they may give you some benefit. But, it is best to be practical and understand that there isn’t any quick cure to remove scar marks.

One of the home remedies for scar marks is to use natural bleaches. Lemon juice can help, and also apple cider vinegar. Regularly rubbing slices of freshly cut vegetables, like tomatoes and potatoes, can also work.

You can also use a home-made paste that helps exfoliate the skin. To prepare the paste, crush walnuts and mix it with olive oil and sugar. Apply this paste on your skin and keep for about 15 minutes before washing off with water. A similar paste can also be prepared by mixing sandalwood with rose water. Gently scrub the area when you wash the paste off, so that the dead cells are removed and regeneration of new cells happen.

Besides these, you should also ensure that your skin is kept properly moisturized. Apply olive oil and milk cream on the affected skin. You can also use aloe vera gel, which is good moisturizer for the skin.
