Tongue blisters can be caused by a number of reasons however one of the main causes of tongue blisters is a deficiency of vitamin B complex. Visit your doctor to find out if this is cause. If so, then you can increase your vitamin B intake by eating foodstuffs like eggs, cheese, milk, yoghurt, cottage cheese, potatoes, bananas, and products made of soy.
You can also try a vitamin B complex supplement that can be taken after consulting your doctor regarding the right dosage. Tongue blisters can also appear due to the presence of blisters in your stomach. The blisters in your stomach could be caused due to a food allergy or a stomach upset.
Therefore, if this is case then curing the stomach disorder will take care of the blisters. Gargling with salt water and washing your mouth with salt water will help as well. The salt might help kill any bacteria that may cause an infection on the blister. Make sure to add a lot salt to the water and repeat the procedure several times a day.
Using ice to soothe the pain is also a good alternative to the above treatment. Apart from this you should also stay away from processed foods that contain excessive salts in them. Eating a lot of sweets is also a little known cause of blisters. Therefore avoid eating a lot of sweets to prevent more blisters from appearing. Always remember never to scratch the blisters on your tongue with your teeth. This is not advisable as it reduces the rate at which your blisters will heal and may also lead to further infection. Also remember to drink a lot of cold water. This not only helps with the healing process but not drinking enough water has also been cited as one of the reasons that cause the formation of tongue blisters. Tongue blisters can also be treated using turmeric powder. You can use normal cooking turmeric powder and this is by far one the best remedies you can try. All you have to do is take a half spoon of turmeric, mix it in a glass of milk and then drink the whole thing. Another remedy for a tongue blister is the application of dehydrated alum that has been mixed with pure honey. The honey will make the treatment bearable and the alum will take care of the soreness of the blister.
