Facial Skin Care Treatment

What can I use for facial treatments?
(19 Feb 2009)

The texture of your skin plays a prominent role in your appearance and overall aesthetic appeal. Given that the face is the most recognizable feature and one of the first characteristics to be noticed when introduced to new people, it is essential that the skin on your face is unblemished to set the right impression. It is no wonder then, that in almost every medical or even general store you walk into – anywhere in the world, you are likely to be confronted by a huge stack of face cream options that promise to remove any possible blemish from your face and completely alter your complexion in sometimes unbelievable timeframes.

Beauty spas and salons all over the world get a lot of business as a result of the effectiveness of their skin and facial treatments. However, you would have noticed that most of these treatments include the use of a number of seemingly natural concoctions. This is mainly because, over the years, in spite of the advancement of science and technology, some of the more natural treatment options are known to have the best and most long lasting effects on the skin. Furthermore, if you were to choose some kind of commercially available lotion that happens to contain some chemical substance that you happen to be allergic to, it could end up worsening your condition.

When you start treatment for your facial skin, you should first clean out any dirt and grime that has clogged the pores of your skin. Choose a cleaner lotion (making sure that it responds to your skin type) and wash your face at night. Apply the lotion on your face and wipe it off with a tissue. When you wake up the next morning, splash some lukewarm water over you face, but avoid the use of either hot or cold water. The next phase of facial cleansing is to exfoliate your skin. Make exfoliation part of your normal routine as it helps get rid of any dead skin cells that stick to the upper layers of the skin. These dead cells could make your skin look extremely dull and unhealthy. Purchase a good moisturizing cream and apply it on your face to make sure that your skin gets its required amount of nourishment. Whenever you wash your face, avoid applying too much soap on your skin, as it serves to strip away the essential oils from the skin, thereby making it more prone to dehydration.

In order to regularly care for and maintain good and healthy skin on your face, you can treat yourself to regular facials. This will help to cleanse your skin deeply; it will help to tone your skin and will also moisturize your skin. It is an excellent way to pamper your skin as well, since it also involves a long and brisk massage. You can use various products at home to take care of your skin. To begin with, we will talk about cleansers. Whole milk is usually the best cleanser for all skin types. However, if you have particularly oily skin, you would be better off using buttermilk. This is an excellent product that will cleanse your skin very well. All you have to do is dip a ball of cotton wool in it and rub your face in circular motions for a good 10 minutes. This will have the effect of cleansing your skin very well. After this, you should use a facial scrub to exfoliate your skin. You can use any scrub off the shelf for this purpose, or make your own by mixing crystalline sugar with enough olive oil to make a spreadable paste. This can be used very effectively for dry skin. For oily skin, you can use coarsely ground walnuts and add them to fresh and unflavored yogurt. Another scrub that can be made for excessively oily skin is made with dried and coarsely powdered orange peels mixed in fresh and unflavored yogurt.

For a massage, you can use any deep moisturizing cream. If you wish to use a natural product, you can use extra virgin olive oil for a good massage. This is an excellent nutrition providing substance and can be used effectively for maintaining excellent and well nourished skin. You can also use white unsalted butter if your skin is particularly dry. The next step would be to steam your face. After a steam, it is a good idea to apply ice to your skin. This way, you will be able to seal in the good effects of the oil. The next step is to apply a face pack. You can apply a simple face pack made with sandalwood powder and rose water fro all skin types. This will lend a beautiful glow to your skin. You can also use a face pack made with fruit pulp containing papaya and pineapple. This is particularly good for mature skin.
