One of the most effective ways to get quick relief from piles is to take an over the counter stool softener. One of the best ones that work extremely well is psyllium husk. You can get this product locally at almost any pharmacy anywhere.
It is also not very expensive and buying one packet will go a long way. Try to buy a brand that promises 100 per cent husk only. Keep in mind that this naturally fibrous product does not need any preservatives, colorants or basically any additions of any kind at all.
You would need a stool softener because if you are suffering from hard stools, then you should know that this is the primary cause of your piles. Hard stools can cause injury and traumatize the nerve ending on your anal opening so that you suffer greatly from painful piles. Excessive straining to have a bowel movement will also result in the same kind of damage. You need to avoid straining excessively to have a proper bowel movement. This can only happen if you have soft stools. Therefore, the necessity of including a stool softener. The best time to have this product is at night before bedtime. This will enable the husk to gather and clean up your stool all night so that you have a good and soft bowel movement in the morning. You will find relief with this quite easily and effectively.
You can also make it a rule to have a glass of hot milk each night before going to bed. This will also enable you to have a good bowel movement in the morning, as milk is a mild and natural laxative. You can also have a couple of crushed figs added to your milk for better results. Figs also have a tendency to clean your stomach and will also help with the process of stool softening. On a general level, you should increase the amount of fiber in your diet. This is the best way to improve the quality of your stools so that you can effectively fight the uncomfortable problem of piles. Drop all bakery goods from your diet for the time being. Goods made with plain white flour like bread and cakes and so on should also be avoided. These will only harden your stools further and will make you more uncomfortable. You should add more of fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet for best results.
