I have a toe nail fungus and I am wondering if inside my shoes any bacteria will reinfect me. If so how should I treat (naturally) inside my shoes?

Fungal infections affecting the toenail can disfigure and sometimes even destroy the toenail. If you are suffering from toenail fungus, your nail will appear swollen and discolored. They might be yellowish or brownish in color, sometimes with unsightly spots or streaks and will become thick and disfigured.
Sometimes the nail begins to crumble at the corners and it may even fall off completely. Toenails are more susceptible to fungal infections since they are exposed often to dark and humid places where fungus thrives. People who regularly visit damp places such as swimming pool dressing room areas, shower stalls in gyms or wear tight shoes and are prone to heavy sweating in the feet often get toenail fungal infections.
Those with an abnormally high pH level of the skin and diabetic patients are more prone to fungal infections of this variety since their immune levels are quite low.
If you have toenail fungus, you can treat it by using simple home remedies. Remember to wash and dry your feet carefully every time you go to the swimming pool or the gym. If is crucial to keep your feet dry, so you can even use a blow dryer to dry the area between your toes properly. You can also dust some anti-fungal powder on your feet. Similarly dust your shoes with an anti-fungal powder to prevent growth of fungus in your shoes. Always change your footwear as soon as you reach home and keep your shoes aside to air them and dry them if they are wet. You can also place a clove of garlic in each shoe to prevent growth of fungus inside your shoe. Apart from this, you can rub some tea-tree oil or olive oil on your affected toenails. The antiseptic and anti-fungal properties of the oil will help to treat the infection. You can also soak your feet in a mix of water and apple cider vinegar in equal proportions. Alternately you can use mouthwash which also helps to treat the infection with its antiseptic properties. It is essential to change your socks daily and keep your feet as clean as possible. You should also keep your toenails trimmed short and keep them free of nail polish so they can breathe. Avoid wearing tight fitting shoes and opt for cotton socks which will absorb the sweat, especially if you are prone to excessive sweating in the feet. If possible wear sandals while you are in the dressing room or shower stall to prevent your feet from coming into direct contact with the floor. In addition to all this, avoid sharing footwear, towels and washcloths with anyone.
