Could you recommend a natural oil that would be safe to use around my eyes and on my lids for dry skin?

The skin around the eyes is very sensitive and vulnerable as it is thin and has very few oil glands. Stress, late nights, insufficient sleep and poor nutrition are the main factors that lead to dark circles and dry skin around the eyes. There are several solutions for treating and preventing the dryness around the eyes.

You may try the following remedies to get rid of the dryness around your eyes.

You may use pure natural almond oil or castor oil. Massage this gently around the eyes.

The skin easily absorbs both these oils. They deeply moisturize and nourish the fine sensitive skin around the eyes and provide it a healthy sheen. You may use these twice daily. Besides these you may also use oils of sea buckthorn, Jojoba oil, evening primrose oil and grapeseed oil. Sea buckthorn is rich in antioxidants, vitamins A and E, essential fatty acids, carotenes and tocopherols that are very important for healthy skin. This oil has powerful skin regenerative and repairing properties and can be very beneficial for treating the sensitive skin around the eyes. Jojoba oil has skin healing and soothing properties and effectively treats dryness of the skin. It is also used to treat skin inflammation, acne, eczema, etc. Grapeseed oil has natural moisturizing and regenerative properties and is rich in linolic acid, which is an essential fatty acid that is important for cell membranes and our skin. It supports the cell membranes and thus helps to retain the natural structure of the nerve cells and skin epithelium.

You can also use pure petroleum jelly around your eyes as it helps to prevent dryness and also helps to moisturize your skin.

Propolis can also be used around the eyes as it contains antibacterial properties and is very rich in vitamins. It is a dark sticky substance made by bees and is effective for people of all age groups.

Lanolin also helps to treat the dry skin around the eyes. It provides more suppleness to the skin and also helps to reduce the fine line around the eyes.

You can also use used tea bags. Keep the used tea bags in the refrigerator for some time. Place these cold tea bags on your eyes for 15 to 20 minutes. These will help to refresh your eyes and also reduce the eye bags and dark circles besides hydrating the skin around your eyes.

Besides this keep your eyes clean and avoid watching TV, movies and working on a computer constantly for long hours.
