Home Remedies For Dandruff
To prevent, cure dandruff I should massage my scalp with olive oil or lemon juice?

It is not clear if you are asking a question about the efficacy or suggesting a remedy with olive oil and lemon for a dandruff problem. Lemon juice on its own should not be used directly on the scalp as it might burn the sensitive skin. Besides lemon juice is a powerful natural bleach that will bleach out the natural color of your hair.
It can be mixed in very small quantities with olive oil and used to massage the scalp. Olive oil has very good moisturizing properties and is excellent for massaging the scalp in cases of dry dandruff. An oil massage is not recommended for those who have oily dandruff as their scalp already produces excess oil and massaging it with more oil will only make the problem worse.
Dandruff is an infection of the scalp and is caused due to several reasons like psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, fungal infection, stress, certain medicines, allergic reaction to hair products or colors, extreme climatic conditions and a certain nutritional deficiency. A small amount of flaking of the dead cells on the scalp is normal but a person suffering from dandruff experiences a large amount of flaking, itching, redness, hair fall, eruptions on the scalp and on the forehead, nose, cheeks and upper arms and shoulders. To treat dandruff effectively you need to pay attention to what you eat along with the products and remedies you use for treating it.
Start your day with lots of water and have at least 8 to 10 glasses throughout the day. Also have fresh fruit juices as this will help to keep your body well hydrated and will prevent dryness of the scalp. Try a natural cleansing detox under professional supervision. A detox will help to thoroughly cleanse your internal organs and will eliminate toxins and accumulated waste in your body. It will also help to treat any other minor health problem besides greatly helping in the treatment of dandruff. Eat lots of salads and sprouts, fresh dark green leafy vegetables, whole grains and low fat curd and buttermilk. The fiber will help to keep your system clean and the antioxidants, vitamins and minerals will boost your immune system to fight off the infection causing dandruff bacteria. Avoid consuming processed meats, white flour, excess sugar, condiments, strong tea and coffee, pickles, refined and processed foods as these contain high amounts of salt and other chemical preservatives that have an adverse effect on your skin and hair. Besides they hardly provide any valuable nutrition to your body.
