Your question is extremely vague - there are hundreds of herbs that are used as remedies, and thousands of different preparations and applications of these herbs. Whole books can be written on herbs that are good for remedies, and in fact there several huge encyclopedias that are indeed available on this topic. Each herb however is good only for certain ailments, and there are specific methods of preparation and application of the herb for each specific ailment.

You have not mentioned exactly what symptom, disease, or condition you are looking to treat with herbal remedies. It is therefore impossible to suggest any specific herbs as an answer to your question.

In general, when speaking of herbs in terms of medical use, the word is used to refer to any plant product, as opposed to cooking herbs, which usually only include fresh leaves of the plant.

Medicinal herbs can include leaves, seeds, and flowers of plants, as well as barks and roots. In addition, many herbs are available as extracts, which are basically solutions containing herbal oils and alcohol. The alcohol is used to extract the oils and essence of the herbs through a special process, after which the solid matter is removed and only the solution remains. All of these products are available at any herbal store, and you should be able to find a herbal store quite easily in your neighborhood, as such herbal remedies are quite popular today.

Some elements that are used in herbal remedies may also be available at other stores. For example, many herbal remedies use spices and other common kitchen ingredients such as garlic, peppermint, liquorice, and psyllium. These are available almost anywhere, and it is not necessary to get them from a herbal store. In fact, you will probably find some common herbal ingredients such as garlic in your kitchen itself.

If you are interested in using herbal remedies on a regular basis, you should probably purchase an encyclopedia of herbal remedies, or some other such book. If possible, you should also consult a herbalist, who will be able to give you more personalized advice that will be suitable for your specific lifestyle, age, history, and health problems. However, it is not advisable to use such remedies exclusively, as a replacement for proper medical advice and treatment. Herbal remedies too can have side effects, and for some diseases, proper medical treatment is the only viable option.
