If you have managed to catch toenail fungus in its early stages, then you will easily be able to cure it within a few days. Sometimes, it may also take a couple of weeks. The reason for this is that usually by the time you actually get around to noticing toenail fungus and it becomes visible, it has already advanced to some extent.

If you see a discoloration of your nails or skin, this would indicate that the fungus has been around for at least about a month. Before that, it would not really be visible so clearly. In any case, it takes different times for different people to heal.

So there is no way of determining the number of days or weeks it would normally take in any particular case. You can however, start taking measures to take care of the fungus and also maintain certain measures to ensure that it does not spread any further than it already has. To begin with, you must cut your nails short at once. This will give the fungus less room to latch on and grow in and will automatically reduce the size and spread of the infection. Once you have done this, you must sanitize your feet. Remember to follow the mentioned procedures on a daily basis. Sanitizing would indicate soaking your feet in comfortably hot water to which a bit of hydrogen peroxide has been added. This will work well towards cleaning your feet well and properly.

After this, pat dry and apply tea tree oil to he densely affected areas. Tea tree oil is a natural anti fungal and anti septic oil and will work wonders at healing your fungal infection as soon as anything possibly can. You can dilute and use this if you have extra sensitive skin as it is a very strong product to use. Dilute a drop with 5 drops of olive oil. If you dilute any further, remember that it may not show as good results. You should use a cotton swab to push this deep inside your nail roots as much as you can. This will ensure that it reaches the farthest reaches and crevices of your toenails. It is preferable to do this overnight, as it can be left to work undisturbed. In the morning, scrub your nails with half a lime to clean out the oil well. The lime will also arrest the spread of the infection.
