Are Potatoes Harmful for Leucoderma. Do they have role in increasing the decease?

There is no scientific evidence to show that potatoes can have any kind of effect on leucoderma. This would also mean that there is no evidence to show that while potatoes do not negatively affect leucoderma, they also do not have any kind of positive effect on the disease. So it would be safe to assume that they do not affect patients of leucoderma in any way whatsoever. Potatoes are rich in starch, which is an essential element for providing energy. If your diet is generally low on carbohydrates, you can have potatoes quite fearlessly. For patients of leucoderma, keeping their weight in check is not really mandatory, though it is always a good practice. There are however, other dietary measures that can be taken in order to take better care of your condition. Though only a thorough medical examination as well as knowledge of your medical history can determine whether or not you can be cured, making some dietary additions and subtractions will definitely help with your condition. In some cases, you will see that the white patches have reduced to a large extent. In other cases, they may shift places, or sometimes even diminish altogether.

To begin with, you should avoid eating any fish preparation to which milk has been added in any form. This will help to stop the growth of white patches. It has been noted that eating fish and milk together can actually increase the discoloration. The same is true of consuming Indian pickle (made with a base of oil as opposed to vinegar) with curds or yogurt. This combination is also considered to be harmful in patients of leucoderma. It is also better to avoid processed food that contains chemical preservatives. This will cause harm to your health and will also worsen your white patches. You can add things like a variety of fresh fruit and vegetable juices to your diet for best results. This will help to maintain general good health as well. Concentrate specially on consuming radish. White or red, it will be very beneficial to you if you are suffering from leucoderma. Make it a point not to have any radish after lunch, however. This may result in severe gas problems, as radish has that property. You should also add turmeric to your diet in order to help with your white patches. This will also go a long way in reducing them if applied topically mixed with mustard oil.
