From your description it sounds if you are suffering from Gingivitis. Gingivitis is a medical condition that affects the gums. This leads to an inflammation of the gums.

This is caused by bacterial plaque. This plaque usually accumulates in the spaces between teeth.

You will have to improve your dental hygiene if you wish to get rid of Gingivitis and to ensure that you don't suffer from it in the future.

In the first place, you will have to ensure that you brush your teeth twice a day. Brushing your teeth at night will ensure that you manage to get out all the particles that have become stuck in the gaps during the day. You should be careful of your diet since eating sugary food items will only worsen your condition. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables does not cause this kind of infection of the gums. Similarly drinking too much aerated drinks or beverages like tea and coffee had an adverse effect on the teeth and should therefore be avoided. Vitamin C can help fight this medical condition and for this reason you should make it a point to drink orange juice and eat as many citrus fruits as possible. You will also find that vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower contains Vitamin C and should therefore be consumed regularly by you.

If you are a smoker you will have to consider giving up smoking. It has been found that when you smoke you actually encourage the bacteria to grow in your mouth. It is this bacterium which can cause Gingivitis. Also when you smoke you weaken your immune system. This means that you are in a weak condition and unable to fight other conditions like Gingivitis. When you smoke the remedies that you take for your Gingivitis are less effective. This basically means that you will take longer to get better if you smoke.

Chewing on a clove is beneficial in this condition. If you can find clove oil, you can use it to massage your gums. You can also mix one pinch of common salt with one pinch of turmeric and use this to massage your gums. Use the tip of your index finger to massage this mixture on your gums. Gargling with warm water to which a pinch of salt has been added can be used to gargle every morning and night. Baking soda is another item that is very effective on Gingivitis. You can use baking soda to reduce the bacteria. Use your fingers to massage the fine white powder on your gums.
