An old adage dictates: you smell of what you eat. To some extent, this is also true. So if you are troubled with bad body odor, you need to check what you are eating.
The solution to your problem could possibly lie in your diet. You can try to take dietary measures and see if they work for a while at least. To begin with, cut out all strong smelling foods from your diet. This would include things like onions, garlic and most of red meat. Any pork products, in particular, will always tend to give you bad body odor as well as a malodorous mouth. You could try to stay on a vegetarian diet for a few days, this will make a difference in the way you smell. But you should know that the results will only start showing in a few days, and not in a matter of a day or two. Your body would need about seven to 15 days to expel whatever remnants of bad smelling food there already are in it. So you need to be patient and continue with the process without giving up. Increase your intake of pleasant smelling herbs to make sure you have good body as well as mouth odor. Try rosemary, coriander, mint and parsley. Parsley in particular also has some properties that will make your mouth smell fresh and nice.
Apart from this, you should also follow hygienic habits. Make sure you do not wear the same clothes without washing them properly. Try to stick to wearing cotton clothing. This will emit the least amount of body odor. Synthetic materials have a tendency to trap perspiration within and will always make your body smell more offensive than cotton clothes. Use perfumes to minimize bad body odor. But use it on your clothes instead of your body, as this works better for you. You can use deodorants on your body is you like. You should also make it a point to use them about twice or thrice a day. You should also try to change your bedding at least once in every two weeks. This will also ensure that odors such as sweat and body odor do not stick to your bedcovers and sheets. This should also help you to sleep more comfortably. Get rid of body hair, especially in areas where it is densely concentrated, like the pubic area and armpits. This will also help.
