The rash you have described sounds like something serious. The best thing for you would be to consult with a dermatologist and get an accurate diagnosis as to what the matter is with you. While rashes of all types and colors are quite common, it is quite unusual for you to have a rash that has rendered your skin black in color.

You would need a dermatological examination simply to ensure that you are not suffering from anything like clotting or an internal injury. When the skin develops blackness, things like clotting cannot be ruled out altogether. If you are given a clean chit by a dermatologist, then you can embark upon taking some basic measures to help yourself at home.

The first thing to do is completely stop using any kind of fragranced product. This will help to relieve the itching to a very large extent. Even the soap you use should be fragrance free as far as possible. You can start out by applying fresh and unflavored yogurt to the entire area. Leave this on for about 30 minutes or till it dries up. This will help to fight any surface infection you may be suffering from. Yogurt has active as well as living bacteria. This will eat off any bacteria on your skin and help to relieve the itching. Yogurt will also help to reduce the darkness since it has natural tendencies to cleanse the skin.

Another product you can use to the same effect is lime juice. This will not only help to heal the rash, it will also reduce darkness, since lime juice is a natural bleaching agent. Another highly effective product to use is aloe vera gel. This will also help to reduce the darkness of the rash as well as take care of the itching that typically accompanies it. In order to take care of the itching, you can also apply calamine lotion to your rash. It will help by soothing the areas with its natural tendency to cool the skin down. If you do not have calamine lotion, you can also use calendula lotion instead. This is also an excellent product to use to help with the itching. Keep in mind that you will have to use most of these remedies for a long time to get rid of the discoloration. While the itching will get taken care of quite speedily, the discoloration may take time. The secret is not to give up.
