The method and course of treatment you follow would completely depend upon the reason you are suffering from piles. There are a few common and generic reasons why people develop and suffer from prolonged piles. The commonest of them is eating excessively spicy food.

Another common reason is an inadequate diet which leads to hard stools. And one more common reason for prolonged piles is lack of proper hygiene. You can take care of all of these situations by making some easy and simple changes in your eating habits as well as lifestyle.

To begin with, go for a medical examination that will reveal exactly what the reason is behind your piles. Once you come to know, you will find it easier to tackle the problem. The solutions are provided here for piles due to all the three reasons mentioned above. To begin with, if you are faced with the problem of piles due to eating excessively spicy food, your first step is to ease off on the spice quotient of your food. It may not always be possible to stop eating spicy food altogether, but you can ease off slowly. This will help. It should take you about a week to completely quite spices. At the same time, you should also increase your intake of yogurt and fresh fruits. This will help with taking care of the piles you are troubled with.

If you have piles because of hard stools, it simply indicates that you are not eating a diet that is rich in fiber. Such a diet will automatically lead to hard stools. You should start adding fiber to your diet. This would mean eating more of fresh fruits and uncooked vegetables. These are your richest sources of fiber. If possible, try to eat a tablespoon of psyllium husk. This is the best natural source of fiber and it will help to ease the hardness of your stools to a large extent. Try to have a tablespoon of it each night with water or milk. You can also develop hard stools due to eating too much of meat, milk and all milk based products and floury products. Stay away from these as much as possible. If you are suffering from piles due to lack of proper hygiene, you can take care of this by washing yourself after a bowel movement, as opposed to using toilet paper. This alone will help to ease your situation.
