Remedies for Swollen Neck Glands

I have developed some swollen glands on my neck & also the night sweating. Do I have TB? Or what could be the problem?

In order to determine what the exact problem is, you would need to get yourself medically examined. It is advisable to go for a complete health check up rather than just finish the matter with a cursory visit to the doctor. This will tell you what the causes are for both of your symptoms, which seem to be quite individual in nature.

Whether or not you have a disease as serious as tuberculosis, can only be determined by a doctor after conducting a proper medical examination. Meanwhile, you can take some steps to take care of your problem of night sweats at home. Night sweats are a common menopausal symptom in women. They also come and go irregularly. If you are menopausal, then you should be prepared to deal with this particular problem. There is nothing that can stop it altogether. Basically, night sweats occur when the female sex hormone production in the body slows down. The night sweating is just a symptom. You can cut down on your intake of spicy food to take care of this problem. Spicy food only adds to this condition, as spices will always tend to raise your internal body temperature. This will then manifest as sweating at night.

You can also increase your intake of food that causes your internal body temperature to drop. Increase your intake of fresh green vegetables and fresh fruit. This will help you out more than anything else. Add guavas to your diet, as these are considered to be particularly cooling in nature. Likewise, you can also add leeches and all other citrus fruits to your diet. Remove “hot” food from your diet. This would include food such as excessive spices, papayas, meat and eggs. These foods can serve to aggravate your problem. With reference to your swollen throat, it is not necessary that you can judge this to be tuberculosis. It could also be a case of simple inflamed tonsils. There are several other symptoms that are associated with tuberculosis. If you are having them all, your fears would be justified. But one symptom does not add conclusively to any disease. You should drink a glass of hot milk to which half a teaspoon of turmeric powder has been added every night for healing this condition. Gargling with hot salt water will also help to heal it. You can also add a pinch of turmeric powder to this water for quicker and better results.
