The description you have provided could signal many things. But in order to make any kind of determination, it is also essential to know your age, gender and family history. Since all of this information is not available, you are advised to consult your family physician to come up with an accurate and fair diagnosis.

You need to know that this series of symptoms could indicate anything from arthritis to rheumatism. It is also possible that you have managed to injure yourself unknowingly. This also causes symptoms like the ones you have described.

If you are injured, then your best bet is to make sure that you get an adequate amount of rest. This is the only way to help ease the pain and discomfort that you are describing. The cracking sound you are describing could also indicate the beginning of a lack of fluid that lubricated your joints. This is one type of arthritis that is considered to be particularly painful. If your problem is indeed arthritis or even rheumatic arthritis, you should start making some basic changes in your diet and lifestyle to check the spread of this degenerating disease.

The first thing to do is to begin a daily routine of exercise. This is absolutely essential for all patients suffering from this particular ailment. You can start with a mild stroll and lead it up to a brisk walk. But make sure your joints get all the exercise they require. This will not only strengthen them, it will also help to arrest the spread of any further damage. You should also eliminate all sour things from your diet. Sour foods tend to aggravate joint aches and pains. You should also avoid consuming yogurt as much as possible. The ethnic nature of yogurt is to provide cooling to the system and body. This is not a requirement to arrest the growth of arthritis. For extreme pain in your joint, you can follow a simpler topical remedy. Make a fine powder of cinnamon sticks and mix this with honey to make a fine paste. Apply this to your knee, both behind the joint and in the front part of your knee. This will help with the pain and will also contribute towards healing. Since this mixture if exothermic in nature, take care that you do not burn your skin. Follow these methods for about a month before expecting to see visible and positive results.
