The color of the skin on the palms of my hand is dark. What is it due to and what are some of the remedies?

The condition you have described is an unusual one. Usually, even people who have generally dark skin tend to have palms that are slightly fairer than the rest of their skin tone. However, this is not mandatory by any standards. Sometimes, people who have naturally dark skin can also have naturally dark skin on their palms. You would need to decide what kind of skin tone you generally have, and whether the skin on your palms is darker or fairer by comparison. If you have unusually dark skin on the palms of your hands, then perhaps it is a matter of heredity. This is quite a common thing, and it cannot really be changed in the long run. People with dark skin may be able to take a few precautions and manage to lighten the color of their skin by a few degrees of shade. But this is about all that can be achieved. If you are hoping to get permanently fair skin, then you should know well ahead that this is scarcely possible, except for using surgical methods.

Sometimes, certain skin conditions like eczema can actually lead to toughening and darkening of the skin on the palms of your hands. This happens when you develop extreme proportions of the disease. It is not a very common occurrence, but it is not unknown to happen either. In order to determine whether this is the problem that is affecting you, it would be advisable for you to consult a dermatologist. This kind of doctor would be the best person to decide the exact nature of your problem. Generally, eczema is basically an aggravated type of skin dryness that afflicts people with sensitive skin. Although this is a very broad based definition of the disease, it can also be considered an overview. You would have to work towards ensuring that you keep your skin well hydrated. If your problem is eczema, then this will be the perfect and only solution to the problem. On a general level, if you have determined that the darkness of your skin is merely topical, you can follow some simple measures at home to take care of it. Applying a mix of saffron strands and fresh milk cream will help to lighten your dark skin over time. You can also apply diluted organic vinegar for the same effect. You would have to follow these measures for at least a month or so before they start showing positive results.
