There are various ways of getting rid of dark circles. The best ways include tackling the problem at its source. Usually, dark circles are a direct result of lack of sleep.

If you are not sleeping properly or well, then you will find that you are suffering from dark circles. So the first thing to do would be to tackle your sleeping. It is essential that you get eight uninterrupted hours of sleep everyday.

This is not only good for your dark circles; it will also help you to maintain better general health. You will notice within a week that your dark circles have improved drastically if you are sleeping better and are better rested. Other than this, there are some easy home remedies you can also use to remove your dark circles. The favorite one is to apply cucumber to your dark circles. This will help to lighten the color of your skin to a very large extent. You can also apply the juice of freshly grated raw potatoes. This also has the effect of lightening the color of your skin. But make sure you do not leave this juice standing even for a few minutes. Otherwise this will not work as it should. Another very effective remedy is to apply used and chilled tea bags to your eyes,. You can simply place them there and leave them for a good 10 to 15 minutes. In fact, all of these remedies suggested here should be left on for about 10 minutes, or until the objects you are using become room temperature or warm. Coolness is essential in order to tackle your problem effectively.

Another excellent remedy to reduce the darkness below the eyes is to apply a runny paste of baking soda and water to the area. This will lighten the color of the skin. However, you should not use this remedy for more than once or twice a week. Otherwise you may end up making the texture of your skin rough, which happens when this remedy is over used. You can also use a paste made with rose water and sandalwood to soothe the tiredness of your under eye area. This will go a long way towards helping you deal with your problem better and well. However, it is essential for you to know that rest and relaxation are the best and most fool proof remedies to tackle and solve your problem on a permanent basis.
