Piles are caused primarily due to a bad lifestyle and a bad diet. During pregnancy women often tend to suffer from piles. This is due to the changes in the body.

Most of us tend to ignore the body's need for water so you should carry a bottle of water with you at all times and sip this during the day. Other liquids that will help you are fruit juices of various kinds. In order to keep the juices low fat, you should avoid adding sugar to them. Buttermilk is also very good for you and the best thing is that it can be taken in a diluted form, with a small pinch of salt added to it.
Other things that you should definitely eat are lots of vegetables and fruits. While all vegetables are good for you, you can go easy on vegetables like potatoes, cauliflower and capsicum. Vegetables like radish, green leafy vegetable should be eaten on a daily basis. Two tablespoons of radish juice, consumed at bedtime is very effective in helping you move your bowels in the morning. You can also apply some coconut oil to your rectum. This will offer lubrication and make it less painful to pass motions.
Eating figs is particularly effective in treating piles. Fresh figs can be eaten during the day and they help in improving the digestion. Dried figs will have to be first cleaned with hot water and then soaked overnight in warm water. These, when consumed in the morning, are very effective in reducing piles.
Lemon juice, when mixed with one cup of hot water and one tablespoon of honey is also very effective in helping in passing stools with out any pain.
It is essential that you get some regular exercise, since this will not only keep you healthy, but will also help you move your bowels. You will have to consult your physician about the kind of exercise you can do. In addition to fresh air and physical exercise you should also keep regular hours. Sufficient sleep is an important part of being healthy and you notice a great difference in your health once you begin getting sufficient number of hours of sleep.
