Natural Remedies For Piles

I developed piles after labor and it has since been a problem. I now drink herbal tea everyday to help with constipation. Are there any natural remedies to cure piles?

Developing piles during and after labor is an extremely common phenomenon. If you are constipated and this has caused you to develop piles, then it is a different matter altogether. In this case, you would need to treat the constipation rather than the piles.

Because if your piles are caused due to constipation, then once you have gotten rid of your constipation, the piles will automatically take care of themselves. In order to take care of constipation, you will have to make some changes in your regular diet plan. Merely drinking green tea will not help you at all.

You must make it a point to eat meals that are rich in fiber so that your stools soften or come more frequently. For this, you should increase your intake of leafy greens, fresh fruits and vegetables. Processed or canned foods will only add to your agonies. Foods that are rich in carbohydrates will make your stools hard and also give you less frequent bowel movements. Give yourself a week of trying this out, and you will see positive results. You should also make it a point to have a glass of hot milk every night before going to bed. Add a teaspoon of castor oil to it. This is an excellent laxative and will help you considerably. In order to ease the pain in your anus and rectum, you can also apply a bit of castor oil to the area with your fingers. Remember to wear gloves, as you could hurt yourself more with your fingernails otherwise. This will also help your anus release stools more easily.

In case of piles alone, you must remember not to eat foods that cause hard bowel movements. This would include fruits such as apples and bananas as well as sweet bakery goods. Stay away from processed foods as much as is possible. These contain chemicals that will not allow your bowel movements to be easy and comfortable. Figs are an excellent natural laxative as they are very high in fiber content. Try to eat at least two before bedtime. You will notice better results if you eat figs that have been soaked in warm milk or warm water. If you can eat fresh figs, this will work too, but dried figs are a better product to use in your case. You should also make it a point to stay away from spicy food, as it will aggravate your pain during bowel movements.
