Mucus home cure

I would like to know how you get rid of mucus!!
(29 Apr 2006)

If it is chronic mucus, you must look at the foods you eat.  Identifying food sensitivities and eliminating these foods is usually very effective in decreasing mucus production.  You can identify these foods by doing a fast/detoxification and then re-introduce foods one at a time until you identify the culprit.

Never do a fast without consulting with your health care provider first.

Another option would be to take an IgG based allergy test that measures your sensitivity to 96 different foods.  Dr. Rose in our clinic works with these issues and we also sell the allergy test on our website www.nwnatmed.com/pharmacy.  Most naturopathic physicians will be able to help you more.

Seasonal or environmental allergies could be to blame as well.

Mucous is one of the ways your body is attempting to eliminate toxins.  So, it is important to identify what is causing the toxins.  One of the most common reasons for excess mucous production is eating (cow) dairy products.  You might try eliminating cow's milk, cheese, cottage cheese, etc. from your diet for several weeks.  Also, drink lots of pure/filtered water.
