The best prevention for any contagious disease is a strong immune system. Immune supporting therapies such as castor oil packs, dry skin brushing etc. and sufficient protein are important ways to rebuild your body after giving birth. For your baby, breastfeeding can provide many immune system benefits.
Sufficient sleep is also important in maintaining a healthy immune system. Homeopathic varicella in low potencies may be used to decrease the duration and severity of the symptoms. Oatmeal baths (oatmeal in a sock in bathwater) is one way to palliate symptoms of chicken pox.
