You can also drink edible aloe vera juice for healing the sore more quickly and from within. This is easily available over the counter. For rabid itching, you can try to apply calamine lotion to bring it down. For the future, you can try to pre-empt the onset of a sore by dabbing a pin sized drop of tea tree oil to it even as you feel it coming up. The tea tree oil will kill the sore before it arrives and gives you so much discomfort. You can also make it a habit to add turmeric powder to your food as a spice. This will also help to heal your sores from within.
