Before you begin trying to take care of your blisters, it is essential for you to know that there is no remedy or treatment that will permanently cure fever blisters or cold sores, as they are commonly known. You can employ methods which will take them away momentarily, and of course, several ways to get relief. One of the basic ones is to apply ice packs to the area.
This will give instant relief from the itching and burning that typically comes with these sores. You can also use a chilled tea bag for the same effect. Make a paste of salt and baking soda to help cure your sores.
Make an infusion of organic vinegar diluted with rose water. This can be applied to the sore for curing it. Applying Witch Hazel will also provide relief as well as help with healing. Chilled milk cream is also a very soothing remedy for sores, not to mention that it will lubricate them and save you from the itching as well.
You can also apply aloe vera gel to cool the itching sensation that will permeate your sores. Aloe also has cooling properties which will provide relief. You can also drink edible aloe vera juice for healing the sore more quickly and from within. This is easily available over the counter. For rabid itching, you can try to apply calamine lotion to bring it down. For the future, you can try to pre-empt the onset of a sore by dabbing a pin sized drop of tea tree oil to it even as you feel it coming up. The tea tree oil will kill the sore before it arrives and gives you so much discomfort. You can also make it a habit to add turmeric powder to your food as a spice. This will also help to heal your sores from within.
